CSAM was established in 1996, it is dedicated to preserving and fostering educational community engagement programs and opportunities that provide access to, and understanding of, the history of Muslim Americans. We have been in our current location since March 2011, and have served more than 18,000 visitors to the Museum.

Our mission is to preserve America’s Islamic Heritage by collecting, archiving, and displaying artifacts, and historical documents. We provide arts, culture, and humanities programs about America’s rich Islamic history and diversity. Our goal is to establish a path and mechanism that will provide high quality art and humanities programs to promote collective understanding and social development for all Americans and particularly Ward 8 residents, using cultural programming and enrichment.
